MAY 1, MORNING MAY 1, MORNING

The fruit of the Spirit is peace.

T he mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. -- God has called us to peace.--Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. -- the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. --The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in Thee.

The work of righteousness the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places.-- He who listens to me shall live securely, And shall be at ease from the dread of evil.

Those who love Thy law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble.

Jehovah Shammah.
(The LORD is there.)

B EHOLD, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them. I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

I shall behold Thy face in righteousness I will be satisfied with Thy likeness when I awake.--Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And besides Thee, I desire nothing on earth.

Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem for all generations. And I will avenge their blood which I have not avenged, for the LORD dwells in Zion..--Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD.-- There shall no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His bond-servants shall serve Him.

MAY 2, MORNING MAY 2, EVENING

Surely the LORD is in this place
and I did not know it

W HERE two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in their midst --Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.--My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.

Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there. Am I a God who is near, declares the LORD, and not a God far off? Can a man hide himself in hiding places, so I do not see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? declares the LORD.
Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain Thee, how much less this house which I have built!--Thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite --We are the temple of the living God.

Guard yourselves from idols.

MY son, give me your heart.--Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

      Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all? -- Consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry .--Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang. But flee from these things, you man of God;
If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.--My fruit is better than gold, yea, even pure gold, and my yield than choicest silver.

Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.--The LORD looks at the heart.

MAY 3, MORNING MAY 3, EVENING

You are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I AM God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.-- You are to be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy; and I have set you apart from the peoples to be Mine.

You have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

In Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority.-- Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed -- Be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless

Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD.-- One who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does.-- Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my anxious thoughts and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.

Ps. 139.23, 24.

Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

DEARLY beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Behold, thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, and in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.--Instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age -- Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.-- Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect

Everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, Who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.-- For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ

MAY 4, MORNING MAY 4, EVENING

Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short that it cannot save.
Neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.

ON the day I called Thou didst answer me; Thou didst make me bold with strength in my soul.--While I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

Do not hide Thy face from me. Do not turn Thy servant away in anger. Thou hast been my help. Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation --O LORD, be not far off. O Thou my help, hasten to my assistance.

Ah Lord GOD! Behold, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power and by Thine outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for Thee --Who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us--Shall not God bring about justice for His elect, who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?

Isaiah. 59.1. Ps. 138.3.--Da. 9.21. Ps. 27.9.-- Ps. 22.19. Jer 32.17.--2Co. 1.10.-- Lk. 18.7, 8.

I glorified Thee on the earth

MY food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.-- We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work.

Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house? And they did not understand the statement which He had made to them.--This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it. Did I not say to you, if you believe, you will see the glory of God?

Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.--Thou art My beloved Son; in Whom I am well pleased.--all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips

Worthy art Thou...for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.

MAY 5, MORNING MAY 5, EVENING

Do not be anxious then, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or With what shall we clothe ourselves? For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

O FEAR tthe LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him, there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing. --No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in Thee!

I want you to be free from concern.-- Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear; you are of more value than many sparrows. .-- Why are you so timid? How is it that you have no faith? --Have faith in God.

Mat. 10.29-31.--Mark 4.40.--Mark 11.22.

He spread a cloud for a covering,
and fire to illumine by night.

LIKE as a fatherhas compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame. He is mindful that we are but dust.
The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.--There there will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.
The LORD is your keeper. The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever. -- The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.

MAY 6, MORNING MAY 6, EVENING

Lovingkindness and truth have met together.  Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

A righteous God and a Savior. There is none except Me. -- The LORD was pleased for His righteousness' sake To make the law great and glorious.

God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them -- Whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, that He might be Just and the Justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.--He was pierced through for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him and by His scourging we are healed.--Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies -- To the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness

Ro. 8.33.--Ro. 4.5.

How are the dead raised?
And with what kind of body do they come?

BELOVED,  now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.--As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

A Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ...will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
He Himself stood in their midst. But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.-- He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve: After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time

If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.

MAY 7, MORNING MAY 7, EVENING

You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened

G OD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea. Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.--Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and close your doors behind you. Hide for a little while, until indignation runs its course.
For behold, the LORD is about to come out from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; and the earth will reveal her bloodshed, and will no longer cover her slain.-- In the shadow of Thy wings I will take refuge, Until destruction passes by.--Your life is hidden with Christ in God.
He will not fear evil tidings. His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world

Mt 24.6. Ps. 46.1-3.--Isaiah. 26.20, 21.-- Ps. 57.1.--Col. 3.3. Ps. 112.7.
John 16.33.

They have persecuted him whom Thou Thyself hast smitten

IT is inevitable that stumbling blocks should come, but woe to him through whom they come! -- This Man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. --Then they spat in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him, and said, Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?
--In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him, and saying, He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we shall believe in Him.--For truly in this city there were gathered together against Thy holy servant Jesus, whom Thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Thy hand and Thy purpose predestined to occur.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried. Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

MAY 8, MORNING MAY 8, EVENING

But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief

N OW My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, Father, save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
.-- Father, if Thou art willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Thine be done. Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.
Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.--For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.-- For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. --The cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?
He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.--My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.--  My chosen one in whom My soul delights.

You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves

THOU...hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God --The priestly sons of Aaron, moreover, shall blow the trumpets; and this shall be for you a perpetual statute throughout your generations. And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and be saved from your enemies.

I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, 'Seek Me in a waste place.--Their voice was heard and their prayer came to His holy dwelling place, to heaven.--The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.--Pray for one another...the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Come, Lord Jesus.--Do not delay, O my God. --Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God.

MAY 9, MORNING MAY 9, EVENING

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

I F we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM for to us God revealed them through the Spirit.-- Having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, Who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.-- Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

We walk by faith, not by sight.-- Do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

It is I. Do not be afraid.

W HEN I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.-- I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.
Woe is me, for I am ruined!...my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then one of the seraphim flew to me, with a burning coal in his hand which he had taken from the altar with tongs. And he touched my mouth with it and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is forgiven.--I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud, And your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.
If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

MAY 10, MORNING MAY 10, EVENING

The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places -- Since...the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.-- When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him -I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even to death.

Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Vanity of vanities All is vanity.

WE have finished our years like a sigh. As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; for soon it is gone and we fly away.
If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.-- Here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come. --I, the LORD, do not change -- Our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; Who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
--The creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, yes and forever.-- HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.

MAY 11, MORNING MAY 11, EVENING

Become sober-minded as you ought
and stop sinning

You are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

This do, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.-- Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.--Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit!

Putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.-- Little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.

My sheep hear My voice.

B EHOLD, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.

I  was asleep, but my heart was awake. A voice! My beloved was knocking: Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my perfect one! For my head is drenched with dew, my locks with the damp of the night. I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had turned away and had gone! My heart went out to him as he spoke. I searched for him, but I did not find him; I called him, but he did not answer me.

Speak, for Thy servant is listening.-- When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house. And he hurried and came down, and received Him gladly. -- I will hear what God the LORD will say; for He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones but let them not turn back to folly.

Jn 10.27. Rev 3.20. Song 5.2, 6.
1Sa. 3.10.--Lk. 19.5, 6.--Ps. 85.8.

MAY 12, MORNING MAY 12, EVENING

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

T HE love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. -- You have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, Abba! Father! The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God -- The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself.

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him --In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace --That in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1Jn 4.7. Ro. 5.5.-- Ro. 8.15, 16.--
1John 5.10. 1John 4.9.--Ep. 1.7.--
Eph. 2.7. 1John 4.11.

Reproach has broken my heart.

I S not this the carpenter's son?--Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?--Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon? -- He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.--We know that this man is a sinner.--He leads the multitude astray.--This fellow blasphemes.-- Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners!

It is enough for the disciple that he become as his teacher, and the slave as his master. -- This finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a man bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly....For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously.--If If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed.

MAY 13, MORNING MAY 13, EVENING

In every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.

T HE true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth..--Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry, and He will say, Here I am. --Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions.
Without without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.-- Let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord
If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear --My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins

My heart throbs, my strength fails me

H EAR Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to Thee, when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Seeing the wind, he became afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me! And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? --If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is limited.-- He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.-- The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms.-- Strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might.

MAY 14, MORNING MAY 14, EVENING

The fellowship of his sufferings.

I T is enough for the disciple that he become as his teacher, and the slave as his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!

He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.--In the world you have tribulation.-- Because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

I looked for sympathy, but there was none. -- At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me.

The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.-- Here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.

Let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

They overcame him
because of the blood of the Lamb

W HO will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.-- It is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement -- I am the LORD. and the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you.

There is...no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where have they come?...These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

MAY 15, MORNING MAY 15, EVENING

He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes and there shall no longer be any death. There shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away

H E will swallow up death for all time, and the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, and He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; for the LORD has spoken.-- Your sun will set no more, neither will your moon wane; for you will have the LORD for an everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be finished.-- No resident will say, I am sick. The people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity. --There will no longer be heard in her The voice of weeping and the sound of crying.-- Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? --The last enemy that will be abolished is death.--then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.

The things which are not seen are eternal.

Raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus

F EAR not; . . . I am the living One...alive forevermore -- Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am.

We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.--He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead.--You are complete in Him and He is the head

Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

This perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.

MAY 16, MORNING MAY 16, EVENING

A bondservant of Christ

Y OU call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am -- If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. -- Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.
Whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.-- Having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. --You are no longer a slave, but a son

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery --For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh

I will bless the LORD who has counseled me

H IS name will be called Wonderful Counselor --Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.--Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.--Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
O LORD, that a man's way is not in himself; Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps. --And your ears will hear a word behind you -This is the way, walk in it, whenever you turn to the right or to the left.--Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established. -- He knows the way I take. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. -- Man's steps are ordained by the LORD, How then can man understand his way?
With Thy counsel Thou wilt guide me, And afterward receive me to glory--God, Our God is forever and ever; He will guide us until death.

MAY 17, MORNING MAY 17, EVENING

I am the LORD your God; walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and observe them.

LIKE the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior -- the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.--Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God. --Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.--Teach me, O LORD, the way of Thy statute

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.--The God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ.
