OCTOBER 1, MORNING OCTOBER 1, EVENING

The fruit of the Spirit is...self-control

EVERYONE who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air but I buffet my body and make it my slave, lest possibly, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
Be not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit
If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober --Deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus

Ga 5.22, 23. 1 Co. 9.25, 26, 27. Ep. 5.18. Mt 16.24. 1Th. 5.6-8.--Titus 2.12, 13.

Grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ

FIRST the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head -- Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.
They measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding... but he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord,  for not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
The substance belongs to Christ. Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
Grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

OCTOBER 2, MORNING OCTOBER 2, EVENING

The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to a solitary land and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

AS far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us --In those days, and in that time, declares the LORD, search will be made for the iniquity of Israel, but there will be none; and for the sins of Judah, but they will not be found; for I shall pardon those whom I leave as a remnant --Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt give truth to Jacob and unchanging love to Abraham, which Thou didst swear to our forefathers from the days of old.

All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him --He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong; because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors. Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors -- Behold, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world!

Lev 16.22. Ps. 103.12.--Je. 50.20.--Mic. 7.19, 18.--Is. 53.6, 11, 12.-- Jn 1.29.

Who regards you as superior? And what do you have that you did not receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

BY the grace of God I am what I am.--In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth --it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy --Where is boasting then? It is excluded.--Christ Jesus...became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption... He him who boasts, boasts in the LORD.
You you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest --Ye are washed, . . . ye are sanctified...you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

OCTOBER 3, MORNING OCTOBER 3, EVENING

To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood

MANY waters waters cannot quench love, nor will rivers overflow it. Love is as strong as death --Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed --In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,

You are washed... you are sanctified... you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God --You are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light --I urge you... brethren by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Re 1.5. Song 8.7,6 --Jn 15.13
1Pe 2.24.--Ep. 1.7. 1Co 6.11.--
1Pe. 2.9.--Ro. 12.1.

There are varieties of ministries
and the same Lord

Azmaveth the son of Adiel had charge of the king's storehouses...Jonathan... had charge of the storehouses in the country... Ezri ...had charge of the agricultural workers...Shimei ...had charge of the vineyards and Zabdi ...had charge of the produce of the vineyards... all these were overseers of the property which belonged to King David
God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues...but one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

OCTOBER 4, MORNING OCTOBER 4, EVENING

Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.

NOT unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Thy name give glory.--Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? -- With humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself -- Clothe yourselves with humility

Jesus was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light --All who were sitting in the Council saw his face like the face of an angel --The glory which Thou hast given Me I have given to them --We all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house.

There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons

From Manasseh also some defected to David...and they helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor --To each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do --To one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit
Of Zebulun...50,000 who went out in the army, who could draw up in battle formation with all kinds of weapons of war...undivided heart --A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
There should be no division in the body but the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. If one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
One Lord, one faith, one baptism.

OCTOBER 5, MORNING OCTOBER 5, EVENING

Call upon me in the day of trouble: I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me

WHY are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance, and my God --LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble; Thou wilt strengthen their heart, Thou wilt incline Thine ear --For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee.

Jacob said let us arise and go up to Bethel and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and has been with me wherever I have gone -- Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits

I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live. The cords of death encompassed me, and the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the LORD

Ps 86.5 Ge 35.2, 3 --Ps 103.2
Ps. 116.1-4

Yet in a very little while, He Who is coming will come and will not delay

Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time. It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.
Do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance --Thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth -- Oh, that Thou wouldst rend the heavens and come down...for from of old they have not heard nor perceived by ear, neither has the eye seen a God besides Thee, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him

OCTOBER 6, MORNING OCTOBER 6, EVENING

The Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns

I KNOW that thou canst do all things--The things impossible with men are possible with God --He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; and no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, What hast Thou done? --There is none ho can deliver out of My hand: I act and who can reverse it? --Abba, Father, all things are possible for Thee.

Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said  to Him, Yes, Lord. Then He touched their eyes, saying, Be it done to you according to your faith. --Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed.--The mighty God.--All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. --Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed...for the one with us is greater than the one with him.

What is the word that He spoke to you?

HE has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? --To keep the LORD'S commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
As many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM. Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH --It was added because of transgressions... until the seed should come to whom the promise had been made.
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son
      Speak, L

OCTOBER 7, MORNING OCTOBER 7, EVENING

He teaches the humble His way.

BLESSED are the gentle.

I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise, nor wealth to the discerning, nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all --The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

To Thee I lift up my eyes, O Thou who art enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to the LORD our God --Teach me the way in which I should walk; for to Thee I lift up my soul.

O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on Thee.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth

O Lord GOD . . .with Thy blessing may the house of Thy servant be blessed forever.

THOU O LORD, hast blessed, and it is blessed forever.--It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive --When you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
-- Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in, naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me.
How blessed is he who considers the helpless. The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble.-- The L

OCTOBER 8, MORNING OCTOBER 8, EVENING

I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT SHALL MAN DO TO ME?

WHO shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who after He has killed has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you --I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, in order that I may finish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God -- I will speak of Thy testimonies before kings, and shall not be ashamed.

Heb. 13.6. Ro. 8.35, 37. Lk. 12.4, 5. Mt. 5.10-12.--Ac. 20.24.--Ps. 119.46.

He . . . set my feet upon a rock.

THE Rock was Christ.--Simon Peter . . . said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. . . . Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not overpower it.-- There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.
Full assurance of faith...without wavering.--Faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

OCTOBER 9, MORNING OCTOBER 9, EVENING

Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate,

THE Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance --The patience of our Lord is salvation

For this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life .--Whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? --Rend your heart and not your garments. Now return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil.

The words of the LORD are pure words.

THY word is very pure: therefore thy servant loves it.--The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
--Every word of God is tested. He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  I will meditate on Thy precepts, and regard Thy ways --Brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. --Like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation
We are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God --Not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God

OCTOBER 10 , MORNING OCTOBER 10 , EVENING

Every family in heaven and on earth

ONE God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.--You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus -- With a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth.

He is not ashamed to call them brethren.--Behold my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother --Go to My brethren, and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father

I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained ...and there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, should be completed also.--That apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Pray in this way: Our Father who art in heaven

JESUS...lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, Father --My Father and your Father, and My God and your God --You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus --You have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, Abba! Father! The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba! Father! Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son

Truly, truly, I say to you, if you shall ask the Father for anything, He will give it to you in My name. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

And I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me, Says the Lord Almighty. Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

OCTOBER 11 , MORNING OCTOBER 11 , EVENING

Be not far from me; for trouble is near.

HOW long O LORD? Wilt Thou forget me forever? How long wilt Thou hide Thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day?-- Do not hide Thy face from me. Do not turn Thy servant away in anger. Thou hast been my help. Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!

He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him --The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them.

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.--Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.--My soul waits in silence for God only; from Him is my salvation --My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him.

Hallowed be Thy name.

THOU shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God
Who is like Thee among the gods, O LORD? Who is like Thee, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders? --Holy, holy, holy, Lord God the Almighty.
Worship the LORD in holy array
--I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, lofty and exalted with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him. And one called out to another and said, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am ruined.-- I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees Thee. Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes.
The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.--That we might share His holiness.--Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus...let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.

OCTOBER 12 , MORNING OCTOBER 12, EVENING

God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them

IT was the Father's good pleasure for all the fulness to dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross -- Lovingkindness and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

I know the plans that I have for you declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity -- Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.

Who is a God like unto thee, Who pardons iniquity?

Yield now and be at peace with Him --Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. -- LORD, Thou wilt establish peace for us, since Thou hast also performed for us all our works.

Thy kingdom come.

IN the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever --A stone was cut out without hands.--Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.--The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed nor will they say, Look, here it is! or, There it is! For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.
To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil and goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts up and grows-- how, he himself does not know. But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.
Be ready too; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let the one who hears say, Come.

OCTOBER 13, MORNING OCTOBER 13, EVENING

From the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard

THUS says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite --The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.--Though the LORD exalted, yet He regards the lowly; But the haughty He knows from afar -- Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you at the proper time.--God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Submit therefore to God.

Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee. Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; and give heed to the voice of my supplications! In the day of my trouble I shall call upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me.

Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven

UNDERSTAND what the will of the Lord is.
It is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.
This is the will of God, even your sanctification.-- So as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. --In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, Therefore putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness
You shall be holy; for I am holy.--Jesus said, whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother -- Everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.--The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever.

OCTOBER 14 , MORNING OCTOBER 14, EVENING

Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

IT pleased the LORD to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; by His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities -- Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory? --Having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ-- this Jesus whom you crucified -- He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Give us this day our daily bread.

I HAVE been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread. --His bread will be given him; His water will be sure --The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he would drink from the brook.
My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus --Be content with what you have for He Himself has said I will never desert you nor will will I ever forsake you.
He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD --Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world. They said therefore to Him, "Lord, evermore give us this bread.

God is my stronghold

THE LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer. My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior --The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart exults

When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him --We confidently say, The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the defense of my life. Whom shall I be dread?

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever --For Thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of Thy wings I sing for joy.

For thy name's sake Thou wilt lead me and guide me.

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors

LORD, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you entreated me. Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, even as I had mercy on you? And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. So shall My heavenly Father also do to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother-- Forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. -- You were dead in your transgressions... He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. -- Just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

OCTOBER 16, MORNING OCTOBER 16, EVENING

Not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord

Whatever your hand finds to do, verily, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going --Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ --Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men;
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ

We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work --Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house? -- Zeal for Thy house will consume me.

Brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble --We desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.-- Run in such a way that you may win.

Do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from evil

HE who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am being tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. --Therefore come out from their midst, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not ouch what is unclean ; and I will welcome you.
Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the valley of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere...like the garden of the L
ORD. So Lot chose for himself all the valley of the Jordan.  Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the LORD. --The Lord He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men. The Lord Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation -- Stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And by Thy righteousness they are exalted

IN the LORD are righteousness and strength. Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him shall be put to shame. In the LORD all the offspring of Israel Will be justified, and will glory. --Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones, and shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
The righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe...for the demonstration of His righteousness at the present time, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.-- Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory

      Not unto us, O L

Now therefore, our God, we thank Thee, and praise Thy glorious name. But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? OCTOBER 18, MORNING OCTOBER 18, EVENING

One of the soldiers soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water

BEHOLD the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you.--The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls --For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Jesus said unto them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many -- Through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption --Peace through the blood of His cross.
Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold... precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ...has appeared in these last times for the sake of you
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you will be clean.  I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.--Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience

Amen

AMEN: Thus may the LORD, the God of my lord the king, say --He who is blessed in the earth shall be blessed by the God of truth (Heb: The Amen) and he who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth (The Amen)
When God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself --For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, in order that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, we who have fled for refuge in laying hold of the hope set before us.
The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, ...says this --For as many as may be the promises of God, in Him they are yes; wherefore also by Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.

The LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught

THE wrath of man shall praise Thee. With a remnant of wrath Thou shalt gird Thyself.--The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD. He turns it wherever He wishes --When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning -- I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
The eternal God is a dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms; and He drove out the enemy from before you, and said, Destroy! --Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD.

Encouragement in Christ... consolation of love... fellowship of the Spirit

MAN who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil. Like a flower he comes forth and withers. He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
-- My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
The Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever --The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name --Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him. Thus we shall always be with the Lord.

OCTOBER 20, MORNING OCTOBER 20, EVENING

I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man

O HOW I love Thy law! It is my meditation all the day --Thy words were found and I ate them, and Thy words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart --In his shade I took great delight and sat down, and his fruit was sweet to my taste --I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
I delight to do Thy will, O my God; Thy Law is within my heart.--My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.--Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror

The LORD your God accept you

With what shall I come to the LORD and bow myself before the God on high? Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves? Does the LORD take delight in thousands of rams, in ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my first-born for my rebellious acts, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment --There is none righteous, not even one. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus: Whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith... for the demonstration... of His righteousness at the present time, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

We of His fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

THIS is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.--See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God
His Son, whom he appointed heir of all things.--If children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.
I and the Father are one.--The Father is in me, and I in the Father --My Father and your Father, and My God and your God --I in them and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity,

THERE arose a dispute among them, as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest  And He said to them, The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called Benefactors. But not so with you, but let him who is the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as the servant. For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table, or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.--Even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

O God, my heart is fixed

THE LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.--He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.--In the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.

I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

He doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?--If God be for us, who can be against us?

OCTOBER 23, MORNING OCTOBER 23, EVENING

Not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.

Better is the little of the righteous than the abundance of many wicked. --Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and turmoil with it --Godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion, Lest I be full and deny Thee and say, "Who is the LORD?" Or lest I be in want and steal, And profane the name of my God .--Give us this day our daily bread.
do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? --"When I sent you out without purse and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?" And they said, "No, nothing." -Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you."

It is the Spirit Who gives life

THE first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.--That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.--Not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit
If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. And if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me --Consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I have been expelled from Thy sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Thy holy temple

ZION said, The LORD has forsaken me, And the Lord has forgotten me. Can a woman forget her nursing child, And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
I have forgotten happiness. So I say, "My strength has perished, And so has my hope from the LORD.-- Arouse Thyself, why dost Thou sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever --Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God? - In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you," Says the LORD your Redeemer.
      Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance, and my God.--We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

Many are saying, "Who will show us any good?" What what does a man get in all his labor and in his striving with which he labors under the sun? Because all his days his task is painful and grievous; even at night his mind does not rest.--Everything is futility and striving after wind.--They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns, That can hold no water.
The one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.--I will pour out water on the thirsty.--Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
O God, Thou art my God; I shall seek Thee earnestly; My soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

OCTOBER 25, MORNING OCTOBER 25, EVENING

Lo, I am with you always,
even
to the end of the world

IF two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst -- He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him.
Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us, and not to the world?... If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him.
To him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

.

The end of all things is at hand.

I SAW a great white throne, and Him that sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away --The heavens and and earth by His word are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. --You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened
We have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens .--we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,

OCTOBER 26, MORNING OCTOBER 26, EVENING

The LORD reigneth.

FEAR
ye not me? saith the L
ORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?--Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

He changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.--Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled.

If God be for us, who can be against us?--Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. The very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Da. 2.21.--Mt. 24.6. Ro. 8.31.--
Mt. 10.29-31.

Take heed to your spirit.

MASTER
, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he . . . rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. And Joshua the son of Nun . . . answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them. And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. . . . And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

OCTOBER 27, MORNING OCTOBER 27, EVENING

He Himself took our infirmities, and carried away our diseases

THEN the priest shall give orders to take two live clean birds and cedar wood and a scarlet string and hyssop for the one who is to be cleansed. The priest shall also give orders to slay the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water. As for the live bird, he shall take it, together with the cedar wood and the scarlet string and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the live bird in the blood of the bird that was slain over the running water. He shall then sprinkle seven times the one who is to be cleansed from the leprosy, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the live bird go free over the open field.
Behold, there was a man full of leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.--And moved with compassion, He stretched out His hand, and touched him, and said^ to him, I am willing; be cleansed. And immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

Whom you bless is blessed

BLESSED are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great

blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it.-- They may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.

OCTOBER 28, MORNING OCTOBER 28, EVENING

He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede. Then His own arm brought salvation to Him and His righteousness upheld Him.

Sacrifice and meal offering Thou hast not desired; My ears Thou hast opened. Burnt offering and sin offering Thou hast not required. Then I said, Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me I delight to do Thy will, O my God. Thy Law is within my heart. --I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.
There is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me. Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.--there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.
Ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

The Enemy

BE of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour -Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.
Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. Though I fall I will rise. Though I dwell in darkness, the LORD is a light for me.

OCTOBER 29, MORNING OCTOBER 29, EVENING

He is wholly desirable

LET my meditation be pleasing to Him --My beloved is . . . Outstanding among ten thousand --A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. --Thou art fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Thy lips.--God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name --It was the Father's good pleasure for all the fulness to dwell in Him
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory
I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith

David strengthened himself
in the LORD his God.

LORD, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life --I know whom know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.
In my distress I called upon the L
ORD, and cried to my God for help. He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry for help before Him came into His ears --They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.
      I will bless the L
ORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD. The humble shall hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. O taste and see that the LORD is good. How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

OCTOBER 30, MORNING OCTOBER 30, EVENING
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

HATH God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies?--I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.--Wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.--Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD.

Let us not be weary in well doing: . . . in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.--Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, While our vineyards are in blossom

WHO can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.--Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.--Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.--Only let your conversation be as it becomes the gospel of Christ.--The tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. The tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.--Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt.

OCTOBER 31, MORNING OCTOBER  31, EVENING

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts

WHO hath directed the Spirit of the L
ORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.--Born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

My spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.--The battle is not yours, but God's.

The LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's.

Jn 3.8.--Jn 1.13. Hag. 2.5.--
2 Ch. 20.15. 1 Sa. 17.47.

Do as thou hast said.

Establish  thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.--Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.--The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations.
God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus.
      Exceeding great and precious promises.
