The powerpoint slides on this page are taken from a discussion of the war of the great day of God, the Almighty (Rev 16:12-16+) and how this great event that terminates this present evil age will be brought to an abrupt end by the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a very difficult topic and undoubtedly one of the most difficult lessons I have ever taught in 38 years of teaching. Therefore I would encourage you to read the discussion The Campaign of Armageddon by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum, who goes through a sequence of end time events very similar to what is depicted in the slides below and in the video discussion.
In summary, in this video we discuss a possible sequence of events associated with the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the final battles in the War of the Great Day of God (Armageddon) We will seek to document the steps in the sequence with the Scripture. We will seek to answer a number of questions related to the last 3.5 years of this age, also known as the Great Tribulation. Here are some of the questions we will address --
- What happens to the holy city of Jerusalem in the last of the last days?
- Where does Israel flee during the Great Tribulation?
- To what location does Jesus Christ return at His Second Coming? Undoubtedly most believers would say that He will return first to the Mount of Olives, but Scripture suggests that He first returns to Bozrah in Edom. We will seek to let the Scriptures be the judge of which belief is correct.
- What happens to the Jews when Christ returns?
- What happens at the battle in the Valley of Jehoshaphat?
- What is the fate of the Antichrist and the armies of the world arrayed against Christ?
Finally we seek to show that contrary to popular opinion prophecy is not a non-profit exercise! And so we will sum up these great end time truths with a take away that Vertical Vision (pondering Jesus Second Coming) should radically transform horizontal living. What (Who) you are looking for should impact what (Who) you are living for. If it does not than sadly you are just becoming a smarter sinner and not becoming more like the Savior (experiencing progressive sanctification). We end with the what could be called the "theme song" of this discussion, the great hymn "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" which describes Jesus' return as Victorious Warrior Who will set up His 1000 year kingdom and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
