God made a promise to Israel that someday
He would bring them back to their land and they would never leave that land
again. And then He told them that He would put His Spirit within them. It
hasn't happened yet. Some people say that God is finished with Israel. Some
say that God's covenant promise in Jer 31 really belongs to the Church and
not to Israel. What does God's Word really say? Will all Israel be saved
when the Gentiles all come in?
Will
a Deliverer really come from Zion and save all Israel?
Ezekiel 36 opens with a prophecy to
the mountains:
|
Ezek 36:8 'But you, O
mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit
for My people Israel; for they will soon come. 9 'For, behold, I am for you,
and I will turn to you, and you shall be cultivated and sown.
|
So here God is promising that the
mountains of Israel will again bear fruit and will be prepared for His
people to return.
we
see a return of all Israel prophesied in
|
Ezek 36:10 'And I will
multiply men on you, all
the house of Israel, all of it;
and the cities will be inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt. 11
'And I will multiply on you man and beast; and they will increase and be
fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited as you were formerly and will
treat you better than at the first.
Thus you will know that I am the Lord. (one of the KEY
PHRASES all the way through Ezekiel). |
So FIRST God will get the MOUNTAINS ready
for the people and NEXT the people will come and ALL THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL
will dwell on these mountains. Ezekiel is writing from captivity, having
been taken captive in the second siege of Jerusalem in 597BC along with
10,000 other Jews captured by Nebuchadnezzar. So both Ezekiel and Daniel are
prophesying from captivity. Ezekiel is prophesying a return to the land and
in fact after 70 years a remnant returned to the LAND of Israel. So is the
Prophecy in Ezekiel 36 talking about this return or is there another
yet to come? Careful observation of the text indicates that this prophecy is
yet future, even after the death of Jesus Christ. Kay believes we began to
see this prophecy fulfilled when we began to see the Jews return to
Jerusalem in 1948, so that it is a prophecy that is being fulfilled in front
of our very eyes!
THEY WILL
NEVER BE DISPERSED AGAIN
|
Ezek 36:12 'Yes, I will
cause men-- My people Israel-- to walk on you and possess you, so that you
will become their inheritance and
never again bereave them of children.' |
This verse is why Kay believes this
prophecy is future to the return of the remnant after 70 years in Babylon.
After the return from 70 years captivity the Jews were kicked out of the
land in 70AD (they were ''bereaved of children'').
When the Jews return certain things have
to happen
|
Ezek 36:2 "For I will
take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into
your own land. (a prophecy of Israel coming back
into her own land...if you want to understand prophecy DON'T FORGET THE JEWS
& don't write off the prophecies for the Jews as having been
''spiritually'' or allegorically fulfilled but look at them as
literal fulfillment and your eyes will be opened to truth.) 25 "Then (When? After they are brought back.) I
will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you
from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 "Moreover, I will give
you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart
of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 "And I will put
My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be
careful to observe My ordinances. |
Doesn't this sound like what has happened
to the CHURCH? This sounds a lot like 2 Cor 3 where Paul describes the
believers there as no longer under the old covenant but under the new
covenant. But this promise is given to THE JEWS so the question is WHEN DO
THEY GET THE SPIRIT? In the context of this passage it would be after they
are brought back into the LAND.
|
Ezek 36:28 "And you
will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers;
so you will be My people, and I will be your God. 29
"Moreover, I will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for
the grain and multiply it, and I will not bring a famine on you. 30 "And I
will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, that you
may not receive again the disgrace of famine among the nations. 31 "Then you
will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will
loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your
abominations. |
So if you take God's Word LITERALLY, not
trying to allegorize it or spiritualize it, His Word clearly says that He is
going to prepare the MOUNTAINS, they will bring forth FRUIT and then God
will bring the Jews back to the mountains. Then God is going to CLEANSE the
Jews of all filthiness and idolatry. Then He will take away their heart of
stone and give them a heart of flesh and put His Spirit within them and they
will live in the land. Then they will be God's people and He will be their
God.
|
Ezek 36:29 "Moreover, I
will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for the grain and
multiply it, and I will not bring a
famine on you.
(Revelation describes coming FAMINES) 30 "And I will multiply the fruit
of the tree and the produce of the field, that you may not receive again the
disgrace of famine among the nations. 31 "Then you will remember your evil
ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in
your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations. 32 "I am not doing
this for your sake," declares the Lord God, "let it be known to you. Be
ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel!" (Most of
Israel today does not believe in Messiah.) 33 'Thus says the Lord God, "On the day that I cleanse you from all your
iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places
will be rebuilt. 34 "And the desolate land will be cultivated instead of
being a desolation in the sight of everyone who passed by. |
Yes today the cities of Israel are
inhabited...but although they will never be kicked off of their land, they
are yet to undergo a great judgment--tribulation--which we read about in Rev
12 & 13.
Zechariah 14
|
Zech 14:2 For I will
gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be
captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished, and half of the city
exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. 3
Then the Lord will
go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a
day of battle. 4 And
in that day His
feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on
the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to
west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward
the north and the other half toward the south....eastern sea and the other
half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter…. 9
And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be
the only One, and His name the only One. |
So there is a time coming when even the
cities that have been inhabited will be destroyed and yet the Jews will not
be kicked out of the land.
ISRAEL
WILL BE LIKE THE GARDEN OF EDEN
|
Ezek 36:35 "And they
will say, 'This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and the
waste, desolate, and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.' 36 "Then
the nations that are left round about you will know that I, the Lord, have
rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, the Lord,
have spoken and will do it." (So what God speaks He will perform!) 37
'Thus says the Lord God, "This also I will let the house of Israel ask Me to
do for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 38 "Like the flock for
sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her
appointed feasts, so
will the waste cities be filled with flocks of men.
Then they will know
that I am the Lord."' " |
COMPARISON OF EZEKIEL 36,
THE END
TIMES & THE APPOINTED FEASTS
|
Jer 31:3 "Behold, days
are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a
new covenant with the
house of Israel and with the house of Judah, (Ezekiel
37 described ''two sticks'' being reunited predicting the reunion of the
Northern Kingdom of Israel --taken captive in 722BC-- & the Southern Kingdom
of Judah--taken captive in 586BC-- this is what Ezekiel 36 refers to
when it says all of Israel will come back to the land, not just the Southern
Kingdom of Judah but the Northern Kingdom of Israel) 32 not like the
covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand
to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke,
(the Law or Mosaic Covenant) although I was a husband to them, "declares
the Lord. 33 "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of
Israel (here ''Israel'' is referring to the re-united Northern &
Southern Kingdoms) after those days," declares the Lord, "I will put
My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people. 34 "And they shall not teach again,
each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for
they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,"
declares the Lord, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will
remember no more." (In Ezekiel when He brings the Jews back to the
Mountains He cleanses them from their sin & idolatry and takes away their
heart of stone replacing it with a heart of flesh and places the Spirit
within them.)35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for light by day,
And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs
up the sea so that its waves roar; The Lord of hosts is His name: 36 "If
this fixed order (natural, cosmic order of the sun, moon, etc)
departs From before Me," declares the Lord, "Then the offspring of Israel
also shall cease From being a nation before Me forever."
|
In
1948
they are
brought back and yet the Jews returned in UNBELIEF. So what will
bring Israel to the point that they recognize their Messiah and everyone
knows Him? That's what we are studying about in Revelation! Yes Revelation
was a message to the churches that she would know the things which would
shortly come to pass but after John is told ''Come up here'' in
Rev 4:1 at that time he is shown the things that are to come AFTER THESE
THINGS. Thus we see 2 WITNESSES in JERUSALEM calling down fire from heaven
for 3 1/2 years after which they are killed and lay dead in the streets of
Jerusalem until the whole world sees them caught up to heaven. Right after
that the 7th TRUMPET sounds and the kingdom of the world has become the
kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah. Then the BEAST that kills the 2
witnesses causes all who dwell on the earth to take a mark without which
they cannot buy or sell. In Rev 12 the woman (Israel) flees into the
wilderness.
ISRAEL
WILL NOT BE OVERTHROWN ANYMORE
|
Jer 31:37 Thus says the
Lord, "If the heavens above can be measured, And the foundations of the
earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of
Israel For all that they have done," declares the Lord. 38 "Behold, days are
coming," declares the Lord, "when the city shall be rebuilt
for the Lord from the
Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39 "And the measuring line shall go out
farther straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah. 40
"And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the
fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward
the east, shall be holy to the Lord; it shall not be plucked up, or
overthrown anymore
forever."
|
So there will be an end and Israel will
not be overthrown anymore. But ''when''? Let's look at the FEASTS.
The FEASTS tell us about the SALVATION OF
THE GENTILES (the coming of the Church) and THE SALVATION OF ISRAEL.
THE
FEASTS OF ISRAEL
Kay believes these feasts
prefigure the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles and to Israel as
well as the salvation of Jews and Gentiles. In
Leviticus 23 God
described the FEASTS that Israel was to celebrate every year without fail.
These FEASTS fell into 3 major categories and all the Jewish males were
required to go up to Jerusalem to celebrate these required feasts.
FIRST FEAST: PASSOVER
WHEN? Month of Nisan, the first
month to the Jews. On the 14th day of Nisan, the Jews would slay the
Passover lamb in remembrance of the Exodus from Egypt. God had made a
covenant of Law the day He brought them out of Egypt. Pharaoh would not let
them go so God sent plague after plague and finally one last plague. To be
protected from this plague God instructed Moses to tell the Jews to get a
lamb without spot or blemish and to keep it from the 10th of Nisan to the
14th. Then they were to slay the lamb and put its blood over the doorpost of
the house. Every firstborn male was to be slain
unless there is
blood on the doorpost.
Exodus 12:13 says '' when
I see the blood I will pass over
you'' and thus we have the word PASSOVER. The Jews were also to
eat the lamb. Jesus is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.
In
1 Cor 5 Paul is instructing the church to deal with a man there who
has been sleeping with his father's wife, telling them to give him over to
Satan for the destruction of his flesh. Why? Because that is sin in the
church and sin spreads.
|
1 Cor 5:6 Your boasting
is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven (leaven here
symbolizing sin) leavens the whole lump of dough? 7 Clean out the old
leaven, that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened.
(Why?) For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. 8 Let us
therefore celebrate the feast (Of Passover), not with old leaven, nor
with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth. |
So Paul is saying that
the lamb was a picture
of Christ our Passover. This OT Feast then was not just for
remembering the past deliverance of God but also pointed
prophetically to Jesus Christ Who has been sacrificed for us. When God
sees that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed us from all sins, death
passes over and we pass from death to life, never to die spiritually again.
Physically we may die but not spiritually. This feast then pointed to the
One Who was to come, the Lord Jesus Christ.
FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD
The 2nd of 3 feasts included under
Passover. This feast instructed the Jews to purge their house of
unleavened bread. Why? Leaven
is a picture of sin and sin spreads. So Christ our Passover has been
sacrificed for us and we are to keep the feast with unleavened bread. You
are no longer a sinner but you have been set free by the blood of Jesus
Christ. Now we are to live righteously, putting away sin (get rid of that
sin just like Paul instructed the Corinthians lest it spread). Remember that
the feast of Unleavened Bread is part of the Passover because one
happens right after the other: 14th of Nisan: Lamb Slain; 15th of Nisan:
Feast of Unleavened Bread.
FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS
The 3rd of the feasts related to
Passover. The Jews did not celebrate this feast until they got into the
Promised Land. This feast was held the day after the Sabbath and was the
PROMISE of a harvest to come. Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the very
day the Jews celebrated the Feast of First Fruits. He was the
FIRST FRUIT and was the Promise of a harvest to come. Because He is
risen from the dead, we shall rise from the dead. Because He lives, we shall
live.
If we know Christ, we are absent from the body and
present with the Lord and some day this mortal will put on immortality and
we will be with the Lord with a body. This is the ''FIRST RESURRECTION''
referred to in
Rev 20:4-6. He died to free us from the penalty as
well as the power of sin. If you are still living in sin and there is no
change in your life and no hunger and thirst for righteousness and no
freedom from slavery to sin and no love for the brethren that flows out of
your supernaturally THEN there is NO SALVATION.
|
2Cor 5:17
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old
things passed away; behold, new things have come.''
|
How do they become new?
Is it just the fact that Christ died for me? Is it just the fact that He was
raised from the dead? No. There is another feast that follows!
FEAST OF PENTECOST
What makes us different from unregenerate
people who dwell on this earth? What causes us to hunger and thirst for
righteousness, to understand the Word of God, to have a love for other
Christians, to be able to forgive and to put away bitterness and anger, to
be able to live as more than a conqueror over our flesh? It is the Spirit of
God inside of us. If we walk by the Spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of
the flesh. When you hear ''Pentecost'' you naturally think of Acts 2 and the
coming of the Holy Spirit to indwell men.
The FEAST OF PENTECOST
was celebrated by taking some grain from the ''FIRST FRUIT'' and storing it.
Then they would make bread from the stored grain. When they made the bread
they would have one big lump and then they would separate it and have TWO
LOAVES. On the DAY OF PENTECOST they would take those TWO LOAVES and the
priest would stand in front of the Temple and wave those TWO LOAVES of bread
in the air. What were they saying prophetically? Pentecost came 50
days (''pente'' = 50) after the FIRST FRUITS. The two loaves of bread
pointed to the fact that now we had Jew and Gentile in ONE BODY, THE CHURCH.
So Pentecost pointed to the end result of the death of Jesus Christ Who
saved us from our sin, Who was raised from the dead, Who ascended into
heaven and then sent the Holy Spirit (John 16: 7 "But I tell you
the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away,
the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.'')
On Pentecost the Spirit now came to dwell within and the church was born.
Paul to
the Gentile Christians:
''Two loaves'' One Body
|
Eph 2:11 Therefore
remember, that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "Uncircumcision"
by the so-called "Circumcision," (THE JEWS) which is performed in the
flesh by human hands-- 12 remember that you were at that time separate from
Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the
covenants of promise, (Not only were the Gentiles
strangers to the Covenant of the Law but also to the Covenant of Promise in
Jer 31 when God said He would do a New Covenant and it is also the
promise of the Holy Spirit in
Ezek 36:27) having
no hope and without God in
the world. 13 But now in Christ
Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the
blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups
(Jew & Gentile) into one,
and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His
flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances,
(that is what separates us from His Holiness) that in Himself He might
make the two (Jew & Gentile) into one new man, thus establishing
peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the
cross, by it having put to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached
peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; 18 for
through
Him we
both have our access
in one Spirit to
the Father. (What gives us access to God and to the mind of God? It is
His Spirit living inside of us.) 19 So then you are no longer strangers
and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's
household, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole
building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the
Lord;22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in
the Spirit. |
So at Pentecost in Acts 2
the Holy Spirit came to dwell inside of them and Ephesians 2 shows the two
becoming one body, the Church. But most of Israel did not come into the
Church (Cp to
Romans 11).
|
Ro 11:1 I say then,
God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an
Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not
rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture
says in [the passage about] Elijah, ...5 In the same way then, there has
also come to be at the present time a
remnant according to
God's gracious choice. |
So has all Israel been saved yet?
No. But does the OT say that ''all Israel will be saved''? Yes. So when and
how? The Jews have missed it. But God in His sovereignty knew what would
happen and He knew that the Jews would reject Jesus as a nation, purposely
had a third feast. The Jews REJECTION has become our SALVATION.
|
Ro 11:11... But by their
transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles...25 For I do not want you,
brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own
estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel
until the
fulness of the Gentiles
has come in; 26 and thus all
Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "The
Deliverer will come from Zion,
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob." 27 "AND THIS IS MY COVENANT
WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."
When will God take away Israel's
sins?
|
Ezekiel 36 says He will bring them
back to the land, then cleanse them, then put His Spirit within them. This
did not happen at Pentecost. All of these things are summarized in
Hebrews 9 & 10 where it says that the covenant in
Jer 31:31ff was
given and fulfilled in a sense when Jesus Christ died and the Holy Spirit
came on the day of Pentecost.
Hebrews 9 & 10 quotes
Jer 31:31ff but
that never happened to Israel. That COVENANT was intended for Israel but who
got that covenant? The Gentiles through the death of Jesus Christ. So is
Israel cut out forever? No. Israel will never cease from being a nation.
|
Ro 11:28 From the
standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the
standpoint of God's choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;29
for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. |
Everything that God has promised about
Israel is going to come to pass. When? At the third FEAST.
THE THIRD FEAST:
There are 3 parts to the 3rd feast
1). FEAST OF TRUMPETS:
This feast was used for the RE-gathering of the Jews at the time a TRUMPET
was blown. This was also a HOLY CONVOCATION and was celebrated in the month
of Tishri, the 7th month for the Jews.
2). DAY OF ATONEMENT:
Described in
Leviticus 16.
|
Leviticus 16:1 Now the LORD spoke
to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they had
approached the presence of the LORD and died. 2 And the LORD said to
Moses, "Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter at any time
into the holy place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on
the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy
seat. 3 "Aaron shall enter the holy place with this: with a bull for a
sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. 4 "He shall put on the
holy linen tunic, and the linen undergarments shall be next to his
body, and he shall be girded with the linen sash, and attired with the
linen turban (these are holy garments). Then he shall bathe his body
in water and put them on. 5 "And he shall take from the congregation
of the sons of Israel two male goats for a sin offering and one ram
for a burnt offering. 6 "Then Aaron shall offer the bull for the sin
offering which is for himself, that he may make atonement for himself
and for his household. 7 "And he shall take the two goats and present
them before the LORD at the doorway of the tent of meeting. 8 "And
Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for the LORD and the
other lot for the scapegoat. 9 "Then Aaron shall offer the goat on
which the lot for the LORD fell, and make it a sin offering. 10 "But
the goat on which the lot for the scapegoat fell, shall be presented
alive before the LORD, to make atonement upon it, to send it into the
wilderness as the scapegoat. 11 "Then Aaron shall offer the bull of
the sin offering which is for himself, and make atonement for himself
and for his household, and he shall slaughter the bull of the sin
offering which is for himself. 12 "And he shall take a firepan full of
coals of fire from upon the altar before the LORD, and two handfuls of
finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil. 13 "And he
shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of
incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony,
lest he die. 14 "Moreover, he shall take some of the blood of the bull
and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side;
also in front of the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood
with his finger seven times. 15 "Then he shall slaughter the goat of
the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside
the veil, and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull,
and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat. 16
"And he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the
impurities of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions,
in regard to all their sins; and thus he shall do for the tent of
meeting which abides with them in the midst of their impurities. 17
"When he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, no one shall be
in the tent of meeting until he comes out, that he may make atonement
for himself and for his household and for all the assembly of Israel.
18 "Then he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make
atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and of
the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar on all
sides. 19 "And with his finger he shall sprinkle some of the blood on
it seven times, and cleanse it, and from the impurities of the sons of
Israel consecrate it. 20 "When he finishes atoning for the holy place,
and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall offer the live goat.
21 "Then Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live
goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel,
and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and he shall
lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness
by the hand of a man who stands in readiness. 22 "And the goat shall
bear on itself all their iniquities to a solitary land; and he shall
release the goat in the wilderness. 23 "Then Aaron shall come into the
tent of meeting, and take off the linen garments which he put on when
he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there. 24 "And he
shall bathe his body with water in a holy place and put on his
clothes, and come forth and offer his burnt offering and the burnt
offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the
people. 25 "Then he shall offer up in smoke the fat of the sin
offering on the altar. 26 "And the one who released the goat as the
scapegoat shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water; then
afterward he shall come into the camp. 27 "But the bull of the sin
offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in
to make atonement in the holy place, shall be taken outside the camp,
and they shall burn their hides, their flesh, and their refuse in the
fire. 28 "Then the one who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe
his body with water, then afterward he shall come into the camp. 29
"And this shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month,
on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls, and not do
any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you; 30
for it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse
you; you shall be clean from all your sins before the LORD. 31 "It is
to be a sabbath of solemn rest for you, that you may humble your
souls; it is a permanent statute. 32 "So the priest who is anointed
and ordained to serve as priest in his father's place shall make
atonement: he shall thus put on the linen garments, the holy garments,
33 and make atonement for the holy sanctuary; and he shall make
atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar. He shall also
make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
34 "Now you shall have this as a permanent statute, to make atonement
for the sons of Israel for all their sins once every year." And just
as the LORD had commanded Moses, so he did. |
3). FEAST OF BOOTHS (TABERNACLES):
So the FEAST OF
TRUMPETS was to GATHER the Jews back. The DAY OF ATONEMENT was enacted
taking 2 goats and casting lots. One goat was the SCAPEGOAT on which the
sins of the people were symbolically placed and which was then taken off
into the WILDERNESS. The other goat was taken in and sacrificed and the
blood put on the MERCY SEAT in the Holy of Holies. This was the only day of
the year that the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies taking the blood
to ''cover" (Kippur > Yom
Kippur) their sins. But the blood of bulls and goats could not take
away sin so a body God prepared for Jesus Christ (Heb 10:5). So the
DAY OF ATONEMENT was the CLEANSING. Do we need the day of atonement?
At Passover we were saved and at Pentecost got the Holy Spirit but Israel
has not been saved. So God was showing the time of the Church, of Jew and
Gentile in one body until the fulness of the Gentiles comes. Then God is
going to bring His people back to the Land. When Jesus Christ in
Mt 24
comes back to earth as the Son of Man and every eye sees Him, He sends His
angels to gather His ELECT (Jews) from the four corners of the earth.
So while we see in 1948 a bringing back of the children of Israel to the
land and the land being prepared, there is still even more of a fulfillment
when Jesus Christ comes and He gathers His ELECT. After He gathers His ELECT
in the land of Israel what is He going to do? There is going to be a Temple
there and the Lord Jesus Christ is going to dwell there with His people.
FEAST OF TABERNACLES
POINTS TO THE REGATHERING OF ISRAEL
|
Zech 14:9 And the Lord will be
king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His
name the only one....16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all
the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to
worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to celebrate
the Feast of Booths.
(TABERNACLES). |
So prophetically the FEAST OF TABERNACLES
pointed to the REGATHERING OF ISRAEL, initiated by the calling
through the trumpet, after which He takes away their sin and puts His Spirit
within them and He dwells with them forever and ever. You and I are living
in the midst of all of these things on the horizon. What do we need to do?
We need to look up because our redemption draws nigh. We need to
understand that we make sure today is the day of salvation. Today the
fulness of the Gentiles is coming in. Then the Deliverer will come out of
Zion and all of Israel will be saved. Why? Because the gifts and calling of
God are irrevocable! God has laid out the picture and it is as sure as the
sun shining, as sure as the waves of the ocean, as sure as the fixed order
of day and night. God's Word stands and Israel as a nation will be saved.
Believe it. It is written in the
feasts for you and for me to see.
|
Mt 24:31 "And He will
send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His
elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. '' |
The Son of Man is coming
and
the FEAST OF TABERNACLES is on its
way!
Listen and be prepared.
Redemption draws nigh.
